About This Instrument
The lab-scale cylindrical torrefaction reactor available in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa can be used for lab-scale experiments and it consists of a cylindrical heating coil with a Stainless-Steel reactor, temperature controller, and inert gas feeding system. The weight loss of products will be recorded by varying the torrefaction temperature and residence time. The condensable fraction of the volatiles will be recovered, and analyzed for the possibility of dilute acid washing of biomass.
