Wayamba University of Sri Lanka | Spectroscopy | FTIR | Functional Groups, Chemical Bonds | The fundamental of infrared spectroscopic technology is on atomic vibrations of a molecule that only absorbs specific frequencies and energies of infrared radiation. The molecules could be detected and classified by FTIR because different molecules will have different infrared spectrum. | IRAffinity-1S - FTIR Spectrometers
Wayamba University of Sri Lanka | Spectroscopy | UV-Visible Spectrometer | Optical absorption or transmittance of liquids, solids and thin-films | UV-Vis spectroscopy is an analytical technique that measures the amount of discrete wavelengths of UV, visible or IR light that are absorbed by or transmitted through a sample in comparison to a reference or blank sample. | shimadzu uv-vis 1800 double-beam spectrophotometer
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Analysis of small organic molecules | Active pharmaceutical ingredients, Personal care products, Toxins, Pesticide residue | Analysis of Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Pesticide Residues | The 1290 Infinity II LC System is an ultra-high-performance LC that has market-leading sample capacity and is designed for the lowest dispersion for the most challenging ultra-HPLC experiments. The 1290 Infinity II LC system is designed to be both a HPLC and high-end UHPLC system in a single flow path, giving a robust and excellent performance no matter what application is running while seamlessly integrating into existing laboratory environment |
Veterinary Research Institute | Spectroscopy | Absorption spectroscopy | phosphorus, trypsin inhibitor, tannin, phytate | Ultraviolet-visible (UV) visible spectrophotometer uses a light source to illuminate a sample with light across the UV to the visible wavelength range to quantify the reaction to measure the parameters. | Ultraviolet-visible (UV) visible spectrophotometer
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Nitrogen Analyzer | Food, Fertilizer | Nitrogen Analysis, Protein Analysis | The UDK 149 is a convenient and reliable solution for safe, semi-automated distillations. The perfect distiller for laboratories looking for precise and reproducible results of Kjeldahl nitrogen TKN, proteins, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, TVBN, sulfites, phenols, volatile acids, cyanides, and alcohol content |
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Nitrogen Analyzer | Food, Fertilizer | Nitrogen Analysis, Protein Analysis | The UDK 149 is a convenient and reliable solution for safe, semi-automated distillations. The perfect distiller for laboratories looking for precise and reproducible results of Kjeldahl nitrogen TKN, proteins, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, TVBN, sulfites, phenols, volatile acids, cyanides, and alcohol content | Scrubber
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Material Identification | Graphite, Clay, Quartz | Crystalline Material Identification | The Ultima IV represents the state-of-the-art in multipurpose X-ray diffraction (XRD) systems. Incorporating Rigaku's patented cross beam optics (CBO) technology for permanently mounted, permanently aligned and user-selectable parallel and focusing geometries, the Ultima IV X-ray diffractometer can perform many different measurements. |
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Material Characterization | Polymer, Rubber | Transmittance, Absorption.
Fourier-Transformed InfraRed (FTIR) spectroscopy is a well-defined technique for material characterization. Because compounds are arranged in a unique combination of atoms, no two compounds produce the exact same InfraRed (IR) spectrum. Therefore, IR spectroscopy can result in a positive identification (qualitative analysis) of functional groups and combinations of groups in organic molecules. Additionally, the intensity of the peaks measured on these unique spectra are directly correlated to the amount of that material present within the sample. The Center’s Bruker Tenor 27 has several reconfigurable accessories that allow for a variety of sample measurements. Solids, liquids, and films can be measured using the diamond lens Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) module |

Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) | Material Characterization | Ceramics, Glass, Clay | Thermal coefficient of expansion | For highest measurement accuracy, DIL 802 provides a truly differential measurement. Measuring only the difference between the sample and the reference specimen with the same, single LVDT-sensor, the True Differential design negates the influence of measurement system expansion on the sample measurement. This measurement design is of particular benefit for dynamic temperature programs such as those employed in Rate-Controlled-Sintering (RCS) and for measurements of samples with small thermal expansion. The DIL 802 is designed for measurements under vacuum or inert gas while the DIL 802L is designed for measurements under air. |
